Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell was an actress on television, ex-chef of the Institute of Culinary Education and she was formerly an instructor of cooking. The host of the Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef and is co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, in her Food Network series Secrets of a Restaurant Cook, reveals easy to master techniques and her trademark blonde spiky locks. Chef Burrell also has worked in some of New York's top establishments, studied Italian food and its traditions, and took part in Food Network Iron Chef America. Growing up in upstate New York, Chef Burrell discovered a love for cooking and eating at young age. She furthered her interest in the restaurant industry by enrolling at The Culinary Institute of America after earning a degree in English and Communication from Canisius College, Buffalo NY. The student says "I thoroughly enjoyed my time as a Culinary Institute of American student. I loved every minute of it." It was impossible to study and do enough. Chef Burrell was a graduate of The Culinary Institute for Foreigners in Italy spent one year working in Umbria in Umbria at La Taverna del Lupo and Tuscany's La Bottega del 30, a Michelin-starred restaurant. Burrell gained a greater understanding of Italian food and culture during her stay in Italy and this has affected the way she cooks. Burrell was part of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board to brighten the lives of children who face problems. Burrell is also a Juvenile Research Foundation Celebrity Ambassador where she advocates for an awareness campaign on juvenile diabetes. As a keynote speaker and mentor, she travels all over the US to talk about her love for cooking and work. Through her culinary adventures, Anne has always said I feel so lucky to be able to share my passion to others.
